Canoeing
Information
History
Canoeing on Rudyard Lake is growing in popularity all the time; several clubs and outdoor adventure organisations as well as individuals visit the Lake throughout the year.
The design of open canoes has not changed very much over the years but the materials from which they are made have certainly advanced allowing them to be lighter in weight whilst, at the same time, being far more robust. There has also been a noticeable increase in the use of inflatable canoes which nowadays are built to withstand regular usage & strong winds.
Fishing from canoes has become very popular allowing the angler to fish an area without disturbing any fish which might be present.
