The League of Friends
Formed in 1998, the League of Friends currently has over 150 members from all over the world. The volunteers arrange various fundraising activities including the spectacular sound and light show every Guy Fawkes night, along with classic car shows
Reservoir Operation
Rudyard Lake is a man made reservoir and is supplied from a feeder at the north end which runs from the river Dane. At the south end the dam incorporates a ‘spillway’ which determines the maximum level of the water in the lake;

The Rudyard Lake League Of Friends purchased the trip boat 'Honey' in 2004. She was a diesel-powered captain's cutter launch from 1942 which had been lovingly restored by her previous owner.
History of Rudyard
The village of Rudyard as we know it today is largely the result of the creation, at the end of the 18th century, of a reservoir in the valley drained by the Dunsmore Brook, to supply the Caldon Canal.
